Bet You Didn't Know

Since opening last May, Kimberly’s has ALWAYS provided health and weight conscience foods.  All items are made right here in the store, which means we control the amount of salt and fat in each selection.  Of course we have those yummy bad things too, but the majority of our selections are not only yummy, but good for you too!  Here are a couple of things to chew on.......

 

 

-Egg Whites.  Better than the whole egg and are regularly on the menu.  Omelettes, sandwiches, even French Toast... egg whites are a good alternative.

 

-Wheat Bagels and Breads.  Keep your fiber up!  Can be used for french toast, breakfast sandwiches, and deli sandwiches.  Also available by the loaf right here in the store.

 

-Boneless, Skinless, Store Trimmed and Cooked Chicken Breast.  We only use the best here and we offer chicken on many selections in the store.  We use it in our soup, on sandwiches like the Chicken Italian, Chicken Philly, Smokehouse Chicken, and the oh so popular Chicken Salad.  And, we never mind adding some grilled chicken to salads!  Full breast with every selection.

 

-Store Trimmed and Sliced Beef.  Ever get one of those “fake” meat cheesesteaks?  Not here!  We buy the slab, trim it up, slice it up, and cook it up!  We don’t add any fat while cooking so really this is not a bad selection either.  Full ½ pound each serving.  Add the extra protein to your morning meal...we offer a Philly Steak Omelette!

 

-93/7 Ground Beef.  Even our hamburgers are safe!  We use only the leanest ground beef.  You should try our chili and homemade meatloaf.  Both are customer favorites!

 

-Ground Turkey.  Although we don’t use this often, we have just added Turkey Chili to our menu.  We used our popular chili recipy and traded the ground beef for ground turkey, and cut the salt content.  Can’t even tell the difference!

 

-Store Trimmed, Cooked, and Skimmed Pork.  Our pulled pork has become increasingly popular as a catering dish with our customers.  We trim it as lean as possible and cook it overnight in a crock pot.  Then we skim off any excess fat.  We just made this available on our “Quick and Easy” menu in the store and sell it in 16 oz portions.  Give it a try!

 

-Soup.  We make every soup right here in the store.  Light on the salt, low on the fat, high in the flavor.  We have it on the menu in 8 oz or 12 oz portions, but we would be happy to fill a large order for your freezer.

 

-Lunchmeat.  We just added fresh sliced meats and cheeses available by the pound.  Although lunchmeat almost always has a bit more salt than we might like, it’s not too bad for you if you pick the right ones.  For meats we have Domestic Ham, Virginia Ham, Roast Pork, German Bologna, Lean Corned Beef, Lean Oven Roasted Roast Beef, Lean Oven Roasted Turkey Breast, Low Salt Turkey Breast and Genoa Salami.  For cheeses we have White American, Domestic Swiss, Low Salt/Reduced Fat Swiss, and Slicing Provolone.  We are pretty picky and have sampled many, many meats and cheeses to find the best.  We have a variety of names but the majority of our selections are from Hatfield.  Keep an eye on our specials, we are integrating these new selections for you to try with a sandwich or salad!

 

-Lets Talk About Grilling and Frying.........We use canola oil or whipped butter with most items, but we always have canola oil spray on hand.  The spray has no calories, and no fat, and creates an equal final product.  What a blessing!   And as for frying....We don’t have a frier!  Not one thing is deep fried, only baked.  Even our home fries have been baked first.  We just crisp them up on the grill!
